Professional Counseling Background - Thor Knutstad

Thor Knutstad, director and counselor of Personal Counseling Solutions, is a graduate of Philadelphia Biblical University (Langhorne, PA) and Biblical Theological Seminary, (Hatfield, PA). Thor has maintained a growing private practice counseling service in the Philadelphia suburbs (current for 15 years with offices in Limerick PA, Langhorne PA and Vineland NJ) and was in the Greater Erie (NWPA) region (2006-2011). For seven years, Thor served as the pastoral counselor of NorthPointe Community Church (Limerick, PA) where he created The NorthPointe Counseling Center, a ministry for churches and the local community. Thor has served on the board of directors at New Life Youth and Family Services (PA), and has counseled for the Christian Counseling Educational Foundation (Philadelphia, PA), Calvary Church Counseling Center of Souderton (SEPA), The Erie City Mission, McLane Church (Edinboro, PA), Youth for Christ, The Salvation Army, Celebrate Recovery, and various other organizations in the Mid-Atlantic Region. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, an affiliate of the American Psychological Association, certified marital assessment trainer with Prepare/Enrich, and is a licensed, ordained minister of the gospel (Thor does premarital counseling and weddings). He has been counseling and consulting for over fifteen years.

Thor is married to his best friend Lisa and loves their sons: Jordan, Bryn, Jadon, and Elijah. He reads the Scriptures daily, struggles to pray to God consistently, and seeks to walk by faith through the mystery of life and suffering on this side of eternity - encouraging others to do the same. He loves people and when not working or investing time with his loved ones, you will find him in a local coffee shop, in a bookstore reading the Bible or a book with pen in hand, or somewhere else just talking to or listening to someone.
